Story Alive!
Story Alive! is an early-learning program that uses storytelling, music, movement and crafting as an introduction to arts appreciation. The sessions draw from performing arts-themed books and a wide variety of music to teach creative movement. To wrap up each session, the participants have an opportunity to express themselves by creating take-home craft projects related to each week’s story. Come to the Center with your preschooler to help bring the Story Alive!
- Designed for ages 4 to 6.
- Participation is limited to 10 children, with a minimum of five required to offer the class.
- Classes are Friday mornings at 10 a.m.
- Craft supplies will be available for all registered children.
- Cost: $60 for all six class sessions or $15 for each single session.
- Come to one session or all six! Register for the entire series and get two sessions free.

July 15 – Corduroy Takes a Bow
July 22 – The Night Before Christmas
Come celebrate Christmas in July with your preschooler at Story Alive! This session starts with a reading of The Night Before Christmas, followed by moving along to holiday-themed music, practicing the Freeze Dance and making crafts.
July 29 – The Wild Symphony
Come be a musical animal at this week’s Story Alive! This session starts with a reading of The Wild Symphony. Then we’ll get the wiggles out by jumping like animals to classical music from the story, followed by craft time.
August 5 – Goldi Rocks and the Three Bears
Come be a rock star at this week’s Story Alive! This session starts with a reading of Goldi Rocks and the Three Bears. Then we will play percussion instruments to classic rock tunes and conclude by creating a take-home music related craft.
August 12 – Octopus’s Garden
Come rock out like a sea creature at this week’s Story Alive! This session starts with a reading of Octopus’s Garden. Next, we’ll create take-home “under the sea” crafts and conclude by moving like underwater sea creatures to classic Beatles tunes.
August 19 – The Ugly Duckling
Come be a graceful swan in this week’s Story Alive! The session will start with a reading of The Ugly Duckling. Then we’ll move around to ballet-themed music and practice being graceful. We’ll conclude by making take-home duckling crafts.
