We’re off to see the Wizard! Follow the yellow brick road to the Tarkington for Central Indiana Dance Ensemble’s premiere of Jill Eathorne-Bahr’s The Wizard of Oz. The ballet centers on our heroine Dorothy, a young girl who is swept away from the plains of Kansas all the way to the magical Land of Oz. With Glinda the Good Witch’s blessing Dorothy embarks upon a journey to the Emerald City to meet the all-powerful Wizard, in hopes he can send her home. Along the way she befriends the Cowardly Lion, the Tin Man and the Scarecrow, who are searching for courage, compassion and wisdom. Together they brave, poisonous poppy fields, flying monkeys and the Wicked Witch of the West. The Wizard of Oz will blow you away from the moment the tornado touches down and transports you to a dazzling Oz! Audiences young and old will be charmed by the timeless story about the power of friendship and believing in yourself.
