Swedish mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter joins the string quartet Brooklyn Rider in this program featuring songs by Franz Schubert (arranged by Osvaldo Golijov) and Rufus Wainwright (arranged by Colin Jacobsen), offered between movements of Schubert’s dark and dramatic “Death and the Maiden” string quartet. The classically trained von Otter is known for her versatility and pop-oriented collaborations with such artists as Elvis Costello, Brad Mehldau and Rufus Wainwright. Brooklyn Rider also has carved out a unique space with unusual repertoire and collaborations outside the realm of classical music.
