Interlude - November 26

November 26, 2020

Over an exterior photo of the Center for the Performing Arts' campus, the text reads "Interlude: Virtual Arts and Entertainment from the Center"

Wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving weekend!

Welcome back to Interlude. We understand completely why you might not be reading email today, but we’re grateful if you are! It’s that time of year, after all.

Either way, we hope you and your loved ones are safely enjoying some Thanksgiving festivities.

We want to thank you

You’ve heard it before, but it bears repeating: We really do appreciate your support, whether it comes in the form of ticket purchases, financial contributions, or simply your acknowledgement that the Center is here and working to enrich your life through the arts.

If you’re not convinced, our dedicated staffers would like to speak to you individually. Roll the clip!

A seasonal soundtrack for your holiday weekend

It’s been a challenging year, but we all have something to be thankful for. Our pals at the Great American Songbook Foundation have assembled a collection of tunes that convey the seasonal mood in ways that words alone cannot – songs about autumn, food, love, and life in general, as performed by names like Sinatra, Crosby, Holiday, Fitzgerald and more of the Songbook’s greatest singers.

Whether you are cooking, eating, lounging about the house, or whatever the case may be, you’ll have a more enjoyable time if you listen to the Plenty to Be Thankful For Spotify playlist.

Next week: More cool stuff

Tuesday brings the next installment of our Performing Arts Connect series, taking you virtually to the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, Georgia, for Jim Henson Trivia Night. It’s a must for Muppet fans of all ages, and your household can join the fun for one low fee. Learn more and get tickets here.

Next Friday, Dec. 4, brings another installment of our Live at the Center series, a free livestreamed concert by Bloomington-based singer-songwriter and former John Mellencamp backup singer Jenn Cristy. For the reasonable price of absolutely nothing, you can watch her rock in HD video with sumptuous stereo sound. Register here for updates and info on viewing options.
