Program Overview
The mission of Allied Solution Center and the Songbook Foundation's Employee Volunteer Program is to provide all employees with opportunities to fulfill hands-on community service needs in Central Indiana and encourage team building and collaboration through shared service initiatives. This program, managed by the Employee Volunteer Committee, offers a bank of 32 hours for employees to utilize in any combination of group and individual service opportunities.
HOW TO USE AND REQUEST HOURS
- Hours Allotted: All full and part-time employees have a bank of 32 volunteer paid-time-off hours to use per fiscal year. These hours do NOT roll over (i.e. use them or lose them).
- Request: Starting July 1, 2023, employees may request to use these hours via Paylocity similar to PTO. Please request by using the code "VOLUN".
- Communicate: Employees should always communicate with their supervisor in advance of using volunteer hours at least one week in advance to ensure any necessary accommodations are made for day-to-day responsibilities within each department.
GROUP SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
Group activities will be offered to full and part-time employees at least three times a year and will be organized by the Employee Volunteer Committee.
Participation Guidelines:
- All group volunteer opportunities will take place during normal business hours.
- At least one of the annual group service offerings per fiscal year will be an organization-wide "Day of Service" (i.e. a full eight-hour day), while other opportunities will vary in length (typically four to six hours of service).
INDIVIDUAL SERVICE HOURS
Employees may also choose to use volunteer paid-time-off hours for individual projects.
Participation Guidelines:
- There is no required structure or minimum increments in which employees must utilize these hours.
- If team members or departments would like to plan to use individual service hours together to participate in a shared activity, they are more than welcome to do so; but these hours would still be considered individual service hours rather than a formal ASCFPA-GASF sponsored group service opportunity. Group opportunities only refer to those organized through the Employee Volunteer Committee.
