Staff Spotlight: Lindy Siefker, Patron Services Representative
11/11/2019 12AM
Raising five boys with her husband, Tim, Lindy Siefker learned how to stretch a penny. She also learned how to bake and decorate cookies – really good iced sugar cookies.
So good in fact, that the boys began selling them to raise money for their extracurricular activities, a family activity that grew into a commercial enterprise about a year ago with the launch of Lindy’s Cookies. Now Siefker and her team – you can read their stories here – are producing as many as 200 dozen cookies per week, many of them custom-designed for various occasions. You can find them at the Center and the Carmel Farmers Market, among other locations.
Meanwhile, this Seymour native and Indiana University graduate lends her talents to our Box Office, where she has spent the past six years providing tickets and concertgoing advice to our patrons. She was kind enough to tell us more.
In a nutshell, what do you do around here?
I assist patrons on the phone and in the lobby with their seating needs and questions.
Are you now, or have you ever been, a performing artist?
I was a performer in dinner theaters all over the state of Florida between my junior and senior year in college. I was a member of the Singing Hoosiers at IU, and I am one of the founders of CYT (Christian Youth Theater) in Indiana, which began in 2009.
What do you want more people to know about the Center?
There is a little bit of every kind of music genre here at the Center, and the ticket prices typically range from $10 to $125 depending on the artist and the seats you choose. And there are great deals for students, specifically with the orchestra performances!
What artist would you most like to see perform at the Center?
I would love to see more concert pianists perform here at the Center. In particular, there is an artist who performs often at Carnegie Hall by the name of Randall Atcheson. He is spectacular!
