Kids learn about the groove – and being groovy to each other
CARMEL, Ind. – The popular Jungle Jams music day camp for children ages 5-7 is returning in July to Allied Solutions Center for the Performing Arts.
Led by instructor “Miss Lisa” Colleen of Bongo Boy Music School, the camp creates an imaginary rainforest setting with stuffed animal friends and an array of drums and other musical instruments for kids to experience. Young campers build a sense of community and learn about positive character traits as they engage in music, games and creative movement activities that illustrate concepts such as rhythm and groove.
During the week, each child makes three simple musical instruments to take home, and on the final day, family and friends are invited to join in the Community Drum Circle Celebration. No musical experience is necessary.
This year’s Jungle Jams camp runs 9-11:30 a.m. July 20-24. The cost for the week is $130.
