Center welcomes three new board members

CARMEL, IN – Three Central Indiana business and civic leaders have joined the Board of Directors of the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel. Board members serve three-year terms.

 

Jayne During of Carmel is owner of Kuaba Gallery, featuring contemporary art with a global reach. She was born in Ghana and raised in the United Kingdom before moving to Indiana to attend Purdue University.

 

Anna Nystrom of Indianapolis is originally from Sweden and also has lived in Italy and Japan. Her background is in administration and human resources in corporate and nonprofit settings. She and her husband, Patrik Jonsson, moved to Indiana because of his position at Eli Lilly & Co.

Brian Urbanski of Carmel is Executive Vice President of Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer of Allied Solutions, which sponsors the Center Presents performance season. He graduated from Butler University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant by the State of Indiana.

 

“We are fortunate to have such talented local leaders who are willing to lend their perspective and expertise to the Center for the Performing Arts,” President/CEO Jeffrey C. McDermott said. “These new members will certainly enhance the quality and diversity of thinking on our board.”

About the Center for the Performing Arts

The mission of the nonprofit Center for the Performing Arts is to engage and inspire the Central Indiana community through enriching arts experiences. The Center presents and hosts hundreds of events each year, including the Center Presents performance series, featuring the best in classical, jazz, pop, rock, country, comedy and other genres. The campus in Carmel, Indiana, includes a 1,500-seat concert hall, the Palladium; a 500-seat proscenium theater, the Tarkington; and the black-box Studio Theater. The Center is home to the affiliated Great American Songbook Foundation and provides space and support services for six resident companies: Actors Theatre of Indiana, Carmel Symphony Orchestra, Central Indiana Dance Ensemble, Civic Theatre, Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre and Indiana Wind Symphony.
