Rickie Lee Jones to perform March 8 at the Tarkington

CARMEL, Ind. – Two-time Grammy Award winner Rickie Lee Jones will visit the Center for the Performing Arts for the first time March 8.
Jones shot to fame in 1979 with her self-titled debut album, which featured the Top 5 single “Chuck E.’s in Love” and earned her the Grammy for Best New Artist, along with three other nominations. Since then, she has tirelessly explored the worlds of jazz, rock, R&B, pop and soul. This year, she landed her eighth Grammy nomination (Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album) with the release Pieces of Treasure, a reunion with producer Russ Titelman, who helmed her first two records.
Jones has been called the “premier song-stylist and songwriter of her generation” by The New Yorker and “The Duchess of Coolsville” by Time magazine. Her 2021 memoir Last Chance Texaco was named Book of the Year by MOJO and a Best Book of the Year by Pitchfork and NPR.
An Evening with Rickie Lee Jones is set for 8 p.m. Friday, March 8, at the Tarkington, 3 Carter Green, Carmel. The performance is part of the Katz, Sapper & Miller Pop/Rock Series and the 2023-2024 Center Presents Season, presented in partnership with Allied Solutions.
