The mission of the Center for the Performing Arts is to engage and inspire the Central Indiana community through enriching arts experiences.
The Center for the Performing Arts will kick off its 11th season with the annual Gala celebration. More than a fundraising event to support the Center as a community asset, this Gala will also promote a spirit of hope and recovery after a challenging year.
Highlights will include inspirational stories and live entertainment streamed from the Palladium stage, including Center Artistic Director Michael Feinstein and his piano trio, led by New York-based musical director Tedd Firth;
New York-based singer-dancer Melissa Schott; a chorus choreographed by Kenny Shepard; and other special guests. Donations and auction proceeds will benefit the Looking Forward Fund, which supports the Center in securing a sustainable future.
The 2021 Gala is designed as an inclusive, hybrid experience that will be accessible to a wide audience, allowing us to gather with our longtime friends while reaching new audiences around the world with the Center’s mission to engage and inspire.
A live entertainment broadcast will stream free online to viewers everywhere, who will have the opportunity to donate and participate in an online auction to support the Center. At the same time, an in-person VIP Experience will be offered in the Palladium’s newly renovated Founders Club for guests who are ready to celebrate together. Tickets are limited for this exclusive offering, which will include culinary small plates, an open bar, and a special performance by Michael Feinstein. The upgraded experience is available for purchase at the link above and is 100% tax deductible.
The Center for the Performing Arts is grateful to co-chairs Eric and Leah Payne and Ron and Suzanne Mencias, who lead the Steering Committee for this monumental event. “The Payne and Mencias families have a long-term relationship with the Center, going back to its opening, in fact,” says President/CEO Jeffrey McDermott. “Whether serving on the Board of Directors, expertly guiding strategic and visioning conversations, or giving generously of their time, talent and treasure, Eric, Leah, Ron and Suzanne are certain to present the best Gala ever to benefit the Center!”
