For Civic Theatre's debut production at the Palladium at The Center for the Performing Arts, we proudly present a concert version of the iconic Broadway musical, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. This special event marks not only our first performance in this stunning venue but also serves as a fundraiser to support Civic's mission to foster a love of theatre through imagination, education and participation.
Set against the backdrop of a full orchestra, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR explores the final week in the life of Jesus Christ, delving into the complexities of his relationships with his disciples, followers, and the Roman Empire. The concert version will bring to life the rock opera's unforgettable score, featuring powerful numbers like "I Don't Know How to Love Him," "Gethsemane," and "Superstar." JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR is the first musical that Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice produced for a professional stage, over 50 years ago. It is a timeless classic, that continues to touch new generations of audiences and performers, over and over again.
