About the Performer
The Shake Ups are an award-winning Midwestern power-pop collective known for co-ed vocals, bouncy melodies, and infectious energy. Formed in 2005, they have independently released several full-length albums. The group has performed at venues and events including San Diego’s House of Blues, the International Pop Overthrow Festival, and Blitzkrieg Bash.
In 2013, The Shake Ups began creating original songs inspired by their favorite cartoons, releasing projects dedicated to series such as Steven Universe, Voltron, and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. Their work has been embraced by fans of all ages and recognized by musicians and voice talent from those series. The band has appeared at conventions across the U.S., including GenCon, Wizard World, and Youmacon, and was named “Best Local Pop” three years in a row in NUVO Newsweekly’s annual readers’ poll. Their latest album, In Orbit, continues their cartoon-inspired tradition with power-pop songs celebrating animated favorites like Teen Titans, The Transformers, Voltron, and more.
Designed for children ages 1-7, Peanut Butter & Jam sessions encourage young children to become engaged in the arts. Join us for these informal Saturday concerts!
